Wise County Sheriff's Office (Deputy Position)

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Sheriff.

Applicants must be 21 years of age at the date of hire, and have a high school diploma or a G.E.D.  Applicants must be TCOLE certified and possess a Basic Peace Officer Certificate at the minimum. Applicants must have a clear criminal record.

A deputy with the Wise County Sheriff’s Office will receive the following benefits:

  • Health insurance coverage is free for the employee and a percentage is paid for dependents
  • Military drill pay
  • Paid stipend for cell phone
  • Take home car for deputies that live in or within 10 miles of the county line
  • Starting pay rate is from $38,400 to $41,600 annually, depending on experience
  • Raises follow probation and promotion
  • Certification Pay for Intermediate, Advanced, Master, Instructor,
  • Incentive pay for Associate or Bachelor or Master Degree

Glock 17 - 9mm handgun, Bushmaster M-4 Patrol Rifle, a Remington 870 Shotgun, and a X26 Taser

Patrol, Traffic, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics, Fugitive Warrant, SWAT, Prisoner Transport, Civil, Court Security, Detention, Dive Team, Communications, Hostage Negotiation, Canine Unit, School Resource Officer, Lake Patrol*, Reserve Deputy Program
